As I mentioned before I have several other blogs. On one of these blogs in particular I wrote a lot about working at Odom Farming Company and what it meant to me. So I decided instead of rewriting the articles and publishing them here I would do a Round-Up of the articles. Don’t know what a round-up is, keep reading.
I decided to call all of these posts where I am grabbing from others sites as a round-up. Why because in farming terms a round-up is a systematic gathering together of people or things. And also I was watching Yellowstone ( the show with Kevin Costner) on television when the idea for these types of posts came to me. So there you go.
So on to the Round-up from posts from one of my other blogs Adventures of Frugal Mom.
Y’all I can’t begin to tell you how much taking that leap of faith and working at an agritourism did for my life. I wrote so many posts on my other blog about those feelings that I thought this would be where I start the round-ups.
So let’s start at the beginning with the post I wrote about spending time on the farm. This was the very first blog post I wrote about the farm and never knowing that I would be working at it one day. We only went to the farm to support Maddie, my oldest daughter ( the girl in the pink shirt) at her first job.
Who Knew It would lead to all that it did and eventually this blog. I mean who knew right?
Fast forward a few years later after that blog post and I did a DIY with a chair and guess where the photoshoot took place – yep at the farm. That was the summer I started working at the farm and it was the summer I found my identity and my home away from home.
Out of that photoshoot came the post Thoughts on Working on a Farm. Working at the farm taught me that it was okay to be unique and I felt so comfortable in my own skin. And I also found one of my best friends, Emily while working there. What a blessing right?
So it is only natural that the farm and the farmers, JR and Emily, were parts of the big events. When Gracie went to homecoming and prom guess where we took her pictures. Yep, the farm. We actually had Mikaela’s, the middle daughter’s college graduation party at the farm. ( I have yet to write about this – so look for this post soon.)
But the biggest event, even though it didn’t happen on the farm was the wedding of my amazing older daughter and son-in-love. Emily did the amazing flowers for the wedding. She went out early the day of the wedding to forage on her farm for fillers and arranged everything so beautifully.
And if you noticed the picture at the top of the blog post that is our newest family picture minus the cats and my two fur grand kitties and guess where it was taken. If you guessed the farm you are right? And guess who took it – Emily. It was taken at the graduation party I will be sharing with you soon.
So as you can see the farm has made a big impact on not only my life but the lives of my family. Look for more of these round-ups coming soon to the blog.
