So excited to have Kristen guest posting on the blog today. Farming isn't just about farming anymore. Sometimes a farmer ( especially if they are a small family run business) has to not only be a farmer but also a marketing director, head of accounting, human resource director, chemist ( when dealing with fertilizers and such), worker, accountant, CEO, director of operations, accounts payable and receivable, Payroll, errand runner and more. Meet Kristen from Tabletop Media
I thought I would take a minute and introduce you to one of the driving forces behind the reason I started this blog. I first met Kristen from Tabletop Media Group when I was invited to go on the Gate to Plate tour with Farm Bureau and Feed the Dialogue. Since then I have been able to work with Kristen on many other ag-related trips. She was even responsible for hooking me up with the sisters from Sassool Cafe. She works with a lot of restaurants as well as some agriculture-related businesses. Continue Reading
One-Pot Jambalaya

We operate Purpose Driven Family Farm, a small-scale farm that sells meats and produce at various Farmers Markets in the area. I am also a homeschool teacher to both of our kids (Rebekah 11yrs old and Michael 9 yrs old). Our farming life really started from a desire to give our children the best (foods/education), teaching them where it all Continue Reading

Then Wednesday was the birthday of the Marine Corps. ( My dad was a die-hard marine) We lost my dad six years due to exposure to agent orange in Vietnam. And Continue Reading
